  • Ghanaian entrepreneurs seek further opportunities in Turkey at biggest industry forum

More Ghanaian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are seeking further opportunities from Turkey as Ghana and Turkey deepens their relationship.

The move forms part of initiatives to diversify markets across the globe to minimise geopolitical risks.

As part of initiatives to enhance the move, Access Bank Ghana and Litina Travel supported about 30 entrepreneurs to attend this year’s World Corporation of Industries Business Forum and Tourism in Turkey.

The two days forum witnessed an enhanced platform for bilateral conversations, groundbreaking negotiations and business agreements which are expected to commence implementation by the close of the year.

Some of the participants who spoke to Joy Business disclosed plans to move forward some discussions that couldn’t be concluded within the two-day period of the main event.

David Okrang, Chief Executive Officre, Jodakon Consult who is part of the beneficiaries recounted a successful engagements and hope for more of such platforms to support Ghanaian entrepreneurs.

“We had a great event so far and I can say my expectations are being met since the first day of the event. However, I have engaged a potential business partner in a conversation which I intend to follow up from next week after the event. This is because we have some key areas of interest and need a common understanding before commencing the partnership”.

He believes agro processing is an essential part of both economies, hence such platforms must give more opportunity to players in the agricultural sector.

Executive Chairman of the WCI Forum, Abdulkadir Develi, also said the event comes at a time of global uncertainty, where trust is more important than ever in trade.

He added that economic security is critical for countries to overcome challenges and that trade diplomacy has become increasingly significant in this geopolitical landscape.
